Attendance and CA: RULES

We have been given a go-ahead by the management to enforce the attendance and CA criteria mercilessly to increase the participation of the students in the class and lab. Below are few advises for you all so that you do not suffer at the end of the term.

Attendance:

Attendance of 75% shall "strictly" be followed. The only allowed relaxation shall be medical/ sports/ cultural/ placement (any one, not all) and the relaxation shall not exceed a maximum of 10%.

Attendance is being marked in vAttendance on a daily basis and is also accessible for you to see. There shall be no manual intervention in the attendance compilation and the attendance at any stage shall ONLY be counted from vAttendnace. It shall be your responsibility to check your daily attendance and if there is any discrepancy, inform the concerned faculty, so that the same can be corrected immediately. Late reporting shall not be considered. It can only be considered on the day of the attendance only.

If you have not yet started using Vattendance, you are advised to start using it NOW.

CA in theory, Lab and Term paper:
CA shall be monitored on a regular basis through tests, quizzes, presentations, assignments etc, as the case be. Your overall CA shall be on the basis of these, which might have been briefed to you by the concerned faculty. If they have not, ask them the criteria for  CA. This applies to both the theory and lab courses.

Regarding the Term paper, a specific period has been designated. The attendance of the period shall also be counted and the tasks performed in the class shall be used for the calculation of 40% of the CA of term paper (25 marks out of 60).

CA in projects:
Regarding the project (final year, both UG and PG), every group/ student has to report to the guide, once a week. Attendance at the guide end shall also be maintained. 10% of the CA for project shall be based upon the attendance.

The students shall also maintain an individual (not a group) diary where they shall keep a track of the work they are doing. The diary shall also form a part of the evaluation scheme. The diary needs to be signed by the guide every week. Every week the group/ student has to give a presentation of ONLY FOUR slides about the progress of the work. All these shall have some components towards the final CA for the project.

So if you are not attending classes, lab, term paper periods or project session, do it at YOUR OWN RISK.
